At the end of October, Industrial Production at LTH was the host of the 7th SPS conference in Lund sponsored by Production2030. In total almost 150 people participated at the conference and almost 90 presentations were presented.

The first day of the conference started with a visit and presentation of the two research facilities MAX IV and ESS that is being built in Lund. In short these two facilities can be explained as two very large microscopes that uses electrons (MAX IV) and neutrons (ESS) too perform experiments on samples.

At the end of the first day there was a buffet and mingle at the LTH campus.

Refreshments between sessions

Day two and three of the conference was dedicated to keynote speakers from represents at ABB and Höganäs and presentations from the participants at six different parallel sessions. The second day ended with a traditional conference dinner at the Ideon Gateway Hotel.

The “Best paper award” went to Sneha Goel, Stefan Björklund and Shrikant Joshi (University West) for contributing the paper “Deposition of Novel Composite Coatings by Suspension-Powder Hybrid Plasma Spraying”

The conference ended with announcing the 8th SPS conference will be held in Stockholm in May 2018.
